Welcome to Market Rasen Town Council
Market Rasen Town Council runs a number of services and facilities in Market Rasen; it is also the representative of the Town to other authorities. It was created in 1974 taking on a number of services from dissolved Market Rasen Urban District Council, the other services going to West Lindsey District Council.
Now is an exciting time for Town and Parish Councils who are receiving a number of new powers from government. Market Rasen Town Council is taking this opportunity to expand into new areas and take on services from West Lindsey District Council.

Council News Next Step to £17m Leisure and Arts Centre
Market Rasen is celebrating being long listed for a multimillion Big Lottery Grant.

The Big Lottery Fund has written to the Town Council with an update on our application for the West Wolds Leisure Park. Extract below:
Progress Continues at Bell Playground
Improvements are still continuing at Bell Playground. All of the Lincolnshire post and rail fencing is now complete and the four tree trunks which will be sculptured by local chainsaw artists have been sunk in to the ground.
Improvements to Bell Playground
The long-awaited improvements to the access and boundaries of Bell Playground commenced on Tuesday 7th March 2006. The work includes the provision of new fencing to the front and side boundaries, new entrance gates and new paved access areas, cycle racks, litter bins, signage and a barbecue area. This is the first phase of a three-phase prgramme, which also includes the provision of new playground equipment and improvements to access to the river Rase, to provide a riverside walk.
Just a Bit More
Lincolnshire Enterprise and EMDA have agreed that Market Rasen Town Council can receive an extra £8,000 from them towards the initial refurbishment of the Old Police Station.
